Pub group’s new venue officially opens its doors in Sully

The Sully Inn joins the Knife & Fork Food group of popular local pubs

The Sully Inn, formerly known as The Boat House, will reopen today (Friday 28th February) following a short rebrand period, after negotiations by pub group Knife & Fork Food.

The new venue is the sixth location for the independent pub group, who have been working to rebrand the venue in line with the Knife & Fork Food signature style, along with the support of the building’s owners.

It joins the other venues in the group’s portfolio, which include nearby Vale of Glamorgan sites, The Pilot in Penarth and The Old Swan Inn in Llantwit Major.

The latest venue, which is situated on Cog Road in the heart of the coastal village of Sully, has been closed in recent weeks as the pub has undergone a change to its new look, immediately apparent from the outside, thanks to a new dark navy façade featuring stylish brass lettering.

And the change of mood is continued inside the pub. Knife & Fork Food were keen to ensure that The Sully Inn offered more of a traditional, cosy pub atmosphere and this has been achieved with the continuation of the existing layout, but with a change to colour palettes, a paring down of the decoration, making a feature of the log burner and introducing some traditional pub furniture.

Dishes to expect on the new menu include prawn and spinach fritters, ox cheek chili con carne with chocolate oil and smoked leek and sesame spelt risotto. Fans of the group’s other venues will also be pleased to hear that their signature pub dishes, including the best-selling fish and chips, as well as lower price lunch options and a grill menu, will also be available.

Customers at The Sully Inn can expect a range of local ales from Grey Trees and Vale of Glamorgan Brewery, as well as a selection of craft beers, changing regularly to suit customer demand. The bar will also be stocked with an extensive selection of spirits and cocktails, along with Knife & Fork’s popular wine list.

Customers will be happy to discover that all the usual Knife & Fork offers will be running at The Sully Inn, including Steak Night, 2-4-1 Cocktails and Fizz Friday, as well as a brand new quiz night on Thursday evenings. The large dining space upstairs also offers great opportunities for customers looking to host private functions of their own.

Speaking about the opening of The Sully Inn, Sharon Noakes, Director at Knife & Fork Food said:

“It’s been a busy few weeks bringing our vision for The Sully Inn to life, but we’ve made it and we are delighted with the result. We hope we have achieved our goal of offering a very relaxed, local drinking and eating hub to Sully.

“We’ve got a successful track record running local pubs in the heart of communities and we’re excited to have opened what is now our third venue in the Vale of Glamorgan and our sixth site in total across south Wales. “

The Sully Inn opens to the public on Friday 28th February at 12pm.
