Sunday lunch with a difference: Prepare for The Pilot’s perfect Poulet

The Pilot in Penarth has announced a delectable new addition to its Sunday menu, Pilot Poulet.

Pilot Poulet features a hearty roast chicken, which is served whole at the table on a butcher’s block, ready to carve and share with family and friends.

The chicken is served with traditional vegetables and roast potatoes and is available on Sunday between 12 – 3:30pm. Pilot Poulet will run alongside the regular Sunday lunch menu.

Over the summer there will be the option to enjoy Pilot Poulet with a lighter salad option, although the original Sunday roast offering will still on offer for those who prefer to keep things traditional.

The Pilot Manager Phil Newbould said “This is a lovely new addition to The Pilot menu. Pilot Poulet is the ultimate Sunday indulgence and a great way to spend an afternoon with family or friends.”

The Pilot, which overlooks Cardiff Bay, opened in late 2012 and has since been recognised in The Michelin Pub, praised for its “laudably local” ingredients and “hearty and honest” dishes.

The Pilot has also recently been awarded TripAdvisor‘s 2014 Certificate of Excellence. This prestigious award recognises businesses that consistently earn top ratings from TripAdvisor travellers.

The beautifully designed pub and restaurant is part of the Knife & Fork Food group, which includes The Conway in Pontcanna, the Old Swan Inn in Llantwit Major and the latest and largest venture, The Discovery in Cyncoed.

Pilot Poulet £20 for 2, to share.
